ABOUT OUR ENTRY DONATIONS
When we started Fairlight Folk we set out to provide top quality music to a diverse audience in return for a very reasonable entry donation. We hope to have lived up to that aim, and based on audience numbers and feedback we’re pretty sure most people who come to our shows agree. We strive to keep our entry donations low so we can offer individuals, couples, friends and families a great night out for an acceptable amount.
Sometimes we reach a point where a little more is needed to cover all our costs. Although we’re heavily reliant on the voluntary efforts of all involved we still need to pay for insurance, venue hire, publicity, PA, equipment, etc. And our ethos is to pay all our performers a reasonable fee for the joy their music brings us. As I’m sure you know, it’s hard to make a living out of music, and especially so if you’re not part of the ‘mainstream’ like most of our artists. Many travel long distance for the pleasure of sharing their music with you, and they don’t earn a lot for all their hard work. We want to reward them as much as we can without making the show's entry donation too high for you our audience to afford.
So we hope you will understand there are times we may need to increase our suggested entry donation amounts by a little. However, to ensure we remain affordable to all those that want to come to FF, we have suggested donations amounts to suit everyone so that hopefully nobody will have to miss out. The current amounts we suggest for entry donations are:
Single |
|
|
Family (2 adults plus kids) |
$30 |
|
Concession (Seniors Card, Student or under 18) |
$10 |
|
... further specials available to FF volunteers* |
|
Also, we’re always happy to negotiate should you find the suggested entry donations beyond your means and don’t fit the above categories. Please let us know and we’ll give a discreet and sympathetic hearing.
We hope you’ll understand when changes are made and that you’ll agree that with the above entry donations FF remains a worthwhile night out with superb music!
