ABOUT OUR ENTRY PRICES When we started Fairlight Folk we set out to provide top quality music to a diverse audience at an affordable price. We hope you’d agree that we’ve lived up to that aim, and based on audience numbers and feedback, we’re pretty sure most people who come to our shows agree. We’ve strived to keep our prices low so that we can offer individuals, couples, friends and families a great night out at an affordable price. Sometimes we reach a point of needing to recoup a little more in order to cover all our costs. Although we’re heavily reliant on the voluntary efforts of all involved, we still have to pay for insurance, venue hire, publicity, PA, equipment etc. And our ethos is to pay all our performers a reasonable fee for the joy their music brings us. As I’m sure you know, it’s hard to make a living out of music, and especially so if you’re not part of the ‘mainstream’ like most of our artists. Many travel long distance for the pleasure of sharing their music with you, and they don’t earn a lot for all their hard work. We want to reward them as much as we can without making the shows too expensive for you our audience. Because of all that, we hope you will understand there are times when we may be forced to up our entry price a little. However, to ensure we remain affordable to all those that want to come to FF, we have available our concessional rates so that hopefully, nobody will have to miss out. So here are our current entry fees:
Also we’re always happy to negotiate on price if you can’t afford the entry fees but don’t fit any of the above categories. Please let us know and we’ll give a discreet and sympathetic hearing! We hope you’ll understand when price changes are made, and we hope you’ll agree that FF remains a very cheap way to have a great night out and hear great music!
